Rides

Our Ride Ethos - We're all about safety, fun, improving fitness and comradeship. Group riding is about learning/experiencing riding with other cyclists around you.

If you are looking for ultra competitive riding and racing, there are probably other groups that would better suit your needs, but please get in touch to discuss what you're after. During the last third of the ride, some riders may wish to increase tempo, but no-one will be left to ride home alone (unless they are winning!!).

Riding Groups

Group 1 - Wise Owls

They know that a straight line is the shortest distance to the coffee shop

Leisure: < 24 km/hr average

Group 2 - Komodo Dragons

Surprisingly quick, sharp tongued assassins who strike early then wait for you to fade before moving in for the kill

Middle Range: 24+ km/hr average

Group 3 - Silver Foxes

Well rounded individuals, born to ride semi-hard

Not So Fast: 27+ km/hr average

Group 4 - Ferrets

Lithe, athletic, difficult to catch and harder to like

Fast: 30+ km/hr average

PEDDLERS' TRAIL DAY - ROTORUA
START TIME 10:00AM
For those who are interested in getting a bit dirty in a group (no, not like that Wayne!), dust off the mountain bikes and meet at the Redwoods MTB car park for a 10:00am start. We're planning to ride the Whakarewarewa Forest Loop - Check it out here (Approx. 35km around)
Afterwards we'll find a cafe to grab some buns (Wayne!!! Stop it!!!) and a coffee

Those of you who would rather stretch yourself out along the Kaimais......uncoil yourself on.......

Bungy's Spring Bounce
************************
NOTE - START TIME 9:00AM
************************
Spring has sprung! Bounce your butt out of bed and plunge headlong into the Old Te Aroha Gorge, where the Great Chasm of Bungard awaits! Dont worry though, you'll be snapped back up to the top of the hill faster than Henry racing to the front of the queue at RH when there's only one apple strudel left. From there you'll be stretched out over the Manawaru Plains like a Peddler in a 10 year old club jersey (am I right Wayne??!?!?!). Back at the cafe I'm sure you'll agree, Bungy will leave you cored. Right, that's enough elastic jokes, any more and I'll be (rubber) banned. If I'm honest they're starting to repeat on me anyway

Let's tune up to make some sweet West Country music this weekend!
